William "Billy" Duncan Nisbet

June 8, 1946 ~ September 8, 2020 (age 74)

Death notice

William “Billy” Duncan Nisbet passed away suddenly the morning of Tuesday September 8, 2020 with Peggy,  the love of his life by his side.

Billy was born June 8, 1946 in Glasgow, Scotland and moved to Canada at the age of 10.  He lived and went to school in Aurora, Ontario where he met his first girlfriend Peggy Lumley at the age of 15.

Billy would stay in Canada until the music business took him to Nashville in the late 1970s to pursue a singing career performing and recording 2 albums.  In the early 1990s Billy moved to Texas and made many great friends. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge No. 794 in Fredericksburg, Texas.  He enjoyed owning and restoring a double decker bus that became well known for its uniqueness and for the tours he offered.   Billy loved classic cars and started his own restoration business and later “Touch of Class”, an auto detail shop which he ran until he retired in 2016.

Thanks to social media Billy and Peggy reconnected after more than 50 years.   In October 2017, the teenage sweethearts were married and  spent the next almost three years together making up for lost time.  Billy and Peggy spent their time loving each other both at their homes in Port Severn and Texas.

Billy will be lovingly missed by his wife, Peggy; his dearly loved children Angie (Glenn Wheeler), and Connie Lynn (Hughie Matheson); adored grandchildren Cody, Chauntell, Jess, Sean, Carrie, Kayla, Hughie Junior and Marshall; great grandchildren Makaylah, Megan. Irelyn, Leo and Raelynn.  He was a loving brother to Lina (Jo Dean Dickerson). Predeceased by his brother Eric and sister Andrea.  Honorary  brother to Sally Binge.

Billy will be fondly remembered and missed by his bonus family (Peggy’s children and grandchildren), and numerous extended family members, and friends in Scotland, Canada, and Fredericksburg. Texas.

Memorial donations to The Salvation Army, Midland Community Church.  A celebration of life to be held at a later date.
